About
Dr. Tracy Paino is one of the co-founders of The Center for Youth and Leadership at North Central University. Filled with courage, humor, adventure, and a keen sense of God's call, he brings life and excitement to his teaching and speaking engagements. Dr. Paino is a believer in the value of intentional leadership. He is a motivational speaker and conducts organizational leadership courses for churches, schools, and businesses. He has taught leaders at some well-known companies such as 3M, General Mills, IKEA, and Jenny-O. As a certified rock climbing guide, ordained minister, college basketball coach, and educator, he brings a unique sense of interest, intrigue, and challenge to his classes and audiences.
Professor Paino served as a youth pastor for the first 10 years of his ministry, and then as senior pastor for 5 years. He has trained future leaders at North Central University since 1996 as the youth specialist and chair of the Student Ministries Department. Now he is the Executive Chair of the Departments of Church Leadership at the university. Currently, Dr. Paino has taught courses such as Introduction to Youth Studies, Sociology of American Youth, Youth Evangelism, Adolescent Psychology & Counseling, Education & Discipleship of Youth, Ministry of the Youth Pastor, Youth Homiletics, Youth Programming, Adolescent Development, Research Methods, Rock Climbing, and also oversees students who are completing their senior projects as well as the internship programs in the Student Ministries and Pastoral Ministries departments. He has been the assistant men's basketball coach and head women's basketball coach at NCU. Along with his training youth pastors through the Youth Ministry program, Dr. Paino developed the Youth Development Studies major to prepare workers for social, community and para-church organizations. He loves investing his time in developing leaders to make a lasting impact in the lives of youth.
Whether speaking to youth, youth leaders, college students or a church congregation, Dr. Paino incorporates his humor and personal stories with a flair that will keep any audience engaged. He has a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Evangel University, a M.Div. from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and a D.Min from Bethel University.
Dr. T and his wife, Debbie reside in Apple Valley, MN and have two daughters, one son, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and two dogs. He loves to run, rock climb, play basketball, wrestle with his granddaughters, and stay as active as possible, (we are pretty sure that he has undiagnosed adult ADHD . . . a little OCD, but let's keep that on the QT). When he does sit down you can find him reading or watching the Food Network. He says, "The Iron Chef rocks!" His goal is to beat Bobby Flay in a spaghetti "throw down" or play drums on a Sweet Comfort Band reunion tour.
