Frequently Asked Questions - PLACEMENTS: I have an internship or volunteer opportunity and would like to post it to this site

If you have a volunteer or internship opportunity that you would like to list on the site, then this is the place to start.

I DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT

If you don't have an account, you will need to register for one. Don't worry, the process is painless. Make sure that when you fill out the form to create your account that you click the 'I am a ministry or organization and would like to post an internship or volunteer opportunity' checkbox on the registration page. The registration page can be found here (REGISTER).

I ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT

If you already have an account you are halfway there. Make sure you are logged in (LOGIN). Once you are logged in, header over to your account page, then click the tab entitle "Apply for Role". For a shortcut, click (HERE) to go there now. Make sure you click the "I am a ministry or organization and would like to post an internship or volunteer opportunity" checkbox.

If you've completed either of the steps listed in the "Want to add a placement? You need an account" FAQ, you should be good to go. Now all you need to do is wait and we will review your request. Once approved, you will be notified by email, and then you will be able to post new your own placements to the site. To make sure that you get this email, make sure to add info@youthandleadership.com to your email provider's list of accepted email senders.

If you now have an account that has been approved as a "placement manager" you are ready to create a placement. A couple new links will now show up at the top-right of each page. The links and their uses are:

  • CREATE: This link will allow you to add a placement.
  • APPLICANTS: This link will allow you to see a list of everyone who has shown interest in your placement.
  • PLACEMENTS: This link will show a list of all placements you currently have active on the site.

To create a placement, click the "CREATE" link, and then click the "Placement" link. Adding a placement is as simple as filling out the form that you will see. Once you have filled out this form in its entirety, click the save button. That's it. Now we will review your placement, and once approved, it will be displayed in the placement section of our site.

The placement will also show up in the "PLACEMENTS" link that can be found in your user menu found in the upper-right of each page.

When someone shows interest in your placement you will immediately be sent an email with all the information you need to review the applicant. You will also be able to see a list of all those who have shown interest in any of your placements by logging into the site and clicking on the "APPLICANTS" button available in the user menu area of the site.

Simple. When viewing your placement you will see, just under the title, a green block that says "THIS PLACEMENT IS ACTIVE - Click to unpublish". Just click that link and your placement will no longer be visible to visitors on the site. Click it again, and it will once again be visitble. It's that easy.
